Afghanistan. 1928 (Nov 21) R.A.F Emergency evacuation flight from Peshawar. Cover from Bombay franked on the reverse by KGV 1a vertical strip of four, addressed "To Afghanistan, Frau Lauretta Dix-Fengel, c/o British Postmaster, Peshawar N.W.F.P, Kabul, Afghanistan, German Legation". Due to a revolt in Afghanistan the weekly overland mail was cut from November 14th; mail was then carried on some of the R.A.F evacuation flights until a regular weekly air service was organised (operating 9 January - 25 February 1929).
