Reverse showing routing via Singapore on the "Ancona" with fine "SINGAPORE / TO HONG KONG" cds (June 17) in black. Some trivial edge wear due to journey but a charming and rare cover. The French stamps eventually cancelled by "Modane a Paris" datestamps in red (Jan 28, 1883) and, on arrival in Brest charged with 1881/92 Postage Due 20 c. black (Maury T17) with confirming manuscript '0.20' alongside.
