HORSESHOE ROUTE With Italy entering WWII in June 1940 all routes across the Mediterranean were suspended. African routes were Cairo-Durban & then by ship to UK. Eastern routes to Australia went via Singapore until the fall of Singapore in February 1942. At which point the route stopped at Calcutta.

Addressed to Wellington NZ. South African Airways Cape Town-Durdan. BOAC Flight NE125 to Cairo-Sydney via Singapore. Trans Tasman flight Sydney -Auckland. With notes.
