WWII RED CROSS FORMS: an extensive collection of 1940-45 used Red Cross forms mainly to Guernsey (93) but also ex Guernsey (47), all bearing Briefstempel and Geneva Red Cross cachets and with a wide range of Censor marks. Inc. 1941 form to Guernsey with ms ink signature of Geo. A. Bradshaw, the Head of the Guernsey Red Cross Bureau on rear; two 1941 telegrams regarding the death of a resident of Guernsey, one informing of the death and the other sending words of comfort to the deceased's daughter; 1942 form ex Stockport with original envelope; 1943 German form ex Guernsey to Stockport, misprinted but still processed through the system; 1944 form ex Toronto, Canada to Guernsey; 1944 summary of a civilian message in suspense at Lisbon, Portugal destined for Guernsey; and 1944 German form ex Guernsey to Loughborough with 34½mm "Zensurstelle" (Censor Office) cachet in black showing code letter "n". Also 6 used cards from the Controlling Committee of the States of Guernsey informing residents that there is a message waiting for them. Many items show blue chemical wash marks, testing the form for writing in invisible ink. All in fine or v. fine condition but some with holes punched for filing, and a few with tears.
