1840 2d Mulready Envelope: SG-Spec #ME4 (Stereo A203), Cat £2,000. Removable hinge rems and some wrinkling and aging noted for accuracy. Originally pmkd red MC and backstamp 'WALSALL/AU17/1840' d/arc cds. Addressed to London where original addressee name excised and new London addressee name added on a piece of paper, thus another red MC and backstamp s/ring 'L/18AU18/1840'. Curious. (Image1)

1841 2d Blue on Mulready paper, H&B #EP6a, with red 'SPECIMEN'. The cover was sent out to Scottish Postmasters attached to Postal Notice SG #PN4, hence the crease at the top where the notice was folded, couple of ink spots on face. Very rare. Also see Lot 1481. (Image1)
