1849 (Nov 6) large outer (somewhat roughly treated over the years) with startling 1841 1d red-brown on blue paper prob SG #8a, x8 (strip of 3 and strip of 5 [MA-MH]) each cancelled 1844 Scottish BN '1' of Aberdeen. Addressed to The Right Reverend Dr Kyle, Preshome-Enzie, By Fochabers. Backstamp 'ABERDEEN/NO5/1849', transit boxed 'FOCHABERS/NO 6/1849', arr d/arc 'ENZIE' in blue (date details unclear). Must have had some bulky contents to account for both the high franking and the many folds. (Image1)
