KGVI surprisingly good well filled mainly mint hinged collection STC SG £40,000, housed in set of SIX matching printed maroon SG albums with clear hawid type mounts affixed and slipcases (albums set alone replacement costs £100s) . Quality throughout is high, many 1st hinge which has not been fully removed. We made a random test and removed one hinge remnant from each of a few sample stamps - they removed and improved, however somewhat perversely we encountered superb unmounted mint high values intermingled! We therefore view this as an unusual opportunity to acquire a valuable KGVI collection at reasonable estimate / reserve price, including many better / key sets / high values which have already been sourced and are included, such as Aden Dhows (always a key set). Unusually a good start has been made upon Indian States, including some Feudatory with exceptional condition surprises here/there. Although we haven't completely checked, we suspect that 1948 Silver Weddings are complete. It is not hard to imagine that this collection STC SG £40,000= would with a little effort / improvement sustain an estimate some thousands of pounds higher. Additionally noted the ever popular and valuable Kelantan 1937-40 'Chef's Hat' set complete to $5, the valuable Hong Kong Silver Wedding $10 unmounted mint included, yet for some reason Gandhi 10R is missing. Overall an outstanding collection with much of the 'legwork' done, but still sufficient to challenge without entering the realms of ludicrously expensive stamps being required. Scans available.
