image RARE ORIGINAL FOLDING 'CIRCULATION OF LETTERS' POSTAL MAP - WYLD'S MAP OF ENGLAND & WALES; c.1836 large folding linen-mounted map (opening out to 900 x 750mm with 15 15x25cms sections; having the original label - some wear - on reverse) showing all the routes of 'Mail Coaches, Riding Work and Foot Posts' marked in the three different colours; plus with small separate inset maps of the Penny Posts of Manchester, Newcastle under Line and Bristol. With contemporary watercolour lines marking out the seven different P.O. Surveyors' areas, with their names written in ink - Messrs. Louis, Stow, Neal, Rideout, Churchill, Karstadt and Fletcher. Very fine & fresh condition showing huge detail of almost every non-metropolitan P.O. and Receiving House in England and Wales. The only copy of this superb map that we can recall having seen.
