1946 Thick Map study (hundreds) in white binder with mint and used singles and multiples. Numerous Plate blocks and some listed varieties, not all in optimal condition, making this lot essential viewing. We note sound 3d 'teardrops' in an unmounted strip, mounted single and two used (also a Thin Map mint example with unobtrusive crease, and used with forged FOX BAY cancel); extensive range of Pl. 2 R5/9 enlarged South Georgia; SOUTH POKE 9d mint, two used and 1/- mint, all with blemishes. Nearly all are positioned, and this study should add to even the most specialised collection. image 1949 Thin Map ½d black and green unmounted o.g. sheet of sixty, folded between the third and fourth columns. Shows a late state of the vignette, where an attempt has been made to correct the R5/2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 spot on 'T' varieties. Traces remain, to a greater or lesser extent. Only known on the ½d value and undoubtedly rare. SG G9 var (Image)

image 1948-9 Thin Map study group (71 singles and 5 blocks), mainly mint with a few used. Dot on 'T' varieties include 1d (2), 2d, 3d (2), 9d and 1/-, these all used; also two mint ½ds (one unmounted) showing the attempted correction of the variety. Most of the rest are minor plate flaws, some of which are evidently constant, but there are two 3ds which suggest doubling of the map; one of which is rather more slurring than doubling, the other showing doubling at the right side of the vignette only (Image)
