1934 Victoria & Melbourne Centenary 'PRINCES PIER, PORT MELB SC7/16NO34/VIC' and 'ALL AUST EXHBTN MELBNE N3/ 10NO34' cds tying Macarthur 2d & 3d to Victoria & Melbourne Centenary Celebrations envelopes registered with plain provisional or Exhibition 'R' labels, the first with two different NSW TPO b/s.

1940 Fahnestock South Sea Expedition (Oct 29) cover to USA with huge Expedition cachet & 'YACHT DIRECTOR II' both in blue plus 'Great Barrier Reef/...' h/s in red, AIF 3d tied by 'GLADSTONE/29OC40/QLD' cds, Brisbane 'NOT/OPENED BY/CENSOR' h/s in violet. [On 18.10.1940, the boat was wrecked near Gladstone & the Expedition abandoned]
1941-58 Royal Geographical Society (Qld) illustrated commemorative covers with many variants & a few scarcer types, six are registered, generally very fine.

1946-50 Queensland Royal Geographical Society group including Ludwig Leichhardt (two with 'ROPER RIVER/NORTHERN TERRITORY' cds) Thomas Mitchell, Captain Cook, Matthew Flinders, Edmund Kennedy, Charles Sturt, Princess Elizabeth, Henry Lawson and more, some are FDCs, a few with inserts, wide variety of illustrations & texts with a range of Queensland postmarks & commemorative cancels, some duplication, condition a little variable but mostly fine to very fine.

1961-2005 collection in heavy Vario pages of Australia Post and privately produced covers for a myriad events with strength in South Australia, some signed by designers or celebrities-for-a-day, some minor duplication, generally very fine. Many we have not seen before. Ex John Walker.
1962 British Empire & Commonwealth Games Perth 'VII BRITISH EMPIRE & C'WEALTH GAMES/ VILLAGE-PERTH-W.A. AUST' pictorial cds with images of the village, logo and various sports, complete set (25) tying 5d to Royal illustrated envelopes with athletics track at L/L and inset description of the cancels, plus part-set on Wesley covers x13, all bar a few of the Wesleys are very fine.
1976-1994 and some later Stamp Exhibitions duplicated array of covers & postmarks, other show souvenirs & some ephemera, in six storage boxes with matching slipcases (see also Lot 306166 if you would like more of them), some toning noted but generally very fine. Weighs 20kg. Ex John Walker. (Image1)
