LAUNCESTON - VERY RARE 7 YEARS WAR - CENSORED P.O.W. CAMP COVER TO FRANCE JUST AFTER PEACE TREATY; 24 Nov. 1762 EL (some reinforced wear to corners etc.) from "Jacques Picon Desorme" in "Launceston" and described in the legal contents (a Power of Attorney with tax stamps) as "detained as a Prisoner in England" to his family in Bordeaux with rare Censor marking of the local POW Agent - "Ex[amined]. J. Tymwell" on the flap. Also with faint "LAN/CESTON" and v. fine 'reversed N' London transit Bishop Mark on the reverse; having a faint Paris "ANGLETERRE" on the front with a smudged black London "PD" in circle and "30" arrival charge. Sent just 3 weeks after the 1762 Treaty of Paris (which was not ratified until December 1762).
