JAMAICA - POSTAL HISTORY: 1906 West India [sic] & Panama Telegraph Co black/orange-buff 'TELEGRAM' envelope to Colombia with Arms 1d & 2½d + Waterfall 1d bicolour tied by double-oval 'JAMAICA/REGISTERED' d/s, 'R'-in-oval h/s & 'RECOMENDASOS/BARRANQUILLA' arrival cds unusually on the face.
JAMAICA - POSTAL HISTORY: 1892 (June 8) cover to Kingston with QV 1d purple & mauve solo tied by very fine complete strike of 'G14' Numeral-in-Bars with identifiable 'HAMPDEN/JAMAICA' and arrival b/s, a couple of minor blemishes. Hampden PO -.6.1873; village in the Trelawny Parish. Proud records the numeral used from 8.6.1892 to 2.1.1901 only, this item being the earliest known usage.
JAMAICA - POSTAL HISTORY: 1892 (Aug 12) cover to Kingston with QV 1d purple & mauve marginal single tied by superb bold complete strike of 'A62' Numeral-in-Bars of Plantain Garden River with very fine 'P. G. RIVER/JAMAICA' and superb arrival b/s, a couple of minor blemishes. PO 1850; renamed Golden Grove 15.10.1913 (although moved there by March 1903); village in the Parish of St Thomas.
JAMAICA - POSTAL HISTORY: 1903 (Jan 22) usage of 'Kingston/King Street/with Market' postcard to Austria with 1d Waterfall solo tied by very fine 'MYRTLE BANK' double-ring cds, very fine, plus 1899 cover to London with QV ½d pair tied to reverse by very fine strike of 'ULSTER SPRINGS' Squared Circle, slightly trimmed at top.
LEEWARD ISLANDS: 1902 KEVII CA ½d to 5/- (the 1/- & 5/- are both faded), and MCA New Colours ½d 1d 2½d & 3d, all overprinted 'SPECIMEN' & also with 'ULTRAMAR' handstamp in blue (1902) or violet (1907), no gum. Ex Portuguese Colonial Archives.
ST LUCIA: 1891-92 Surcharges 'ONE/PENNY' on 4d brown with Double Surcharge SH 55a, light 'ST LUCIA/ C /AP19/--' cds, Cat £225 mint; not priced used. [Although this appears to be a kiss print, it has the same characteristics as Peter Jaffé's mint example]
ST LUCIA: Reprinted die proofs of the Perkins Bacon QV portrait as used for SG 1-30 on thin wove paper in black, in green & in orange each 44x45mm approximately, and in bright carmine 26x32mm.
ST VINCENT - BEQUIA: Racing Cars issue folio of Format International imperforate gummed proof sheets of 25 comprising colour separations & complete designs but with All Inscriptions Inverted, unmounted.
TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: 1941 (March 29) to Australia with KGVI Pictorials 12c & 24c x2 tied 'GPO PORT OF SPAIN' cds, 'TO USA/ONLY/BY AIR' cachet in violet on face, censored locally with brown resealing tape tied by 'OPENED BY CENSOR No.5' h/s and again on arrival with Melbourne label, very fine, plus 1943 (April 10) to Melbourne with KGVI Pictorials 6c & 24c with 'I.E/8680' local censor label tied Chicago 'APR14/1943' b/s, minor blemishes. The rate was 30c per ½oz rate for PanAm service to USA and onwards by surface, the first item paying double rate.
