PLUS BROKEN PINS - C1 plate 174 pair (some separation between units), grossly misperfed to upper left resulting in checkletters at top, cut from the selvedge at right giving a pair approx. one-third of a unit wider than usual, also superbly showing the Simpson & Sargent broken perf variety No. 4 state 4 (perf holes 5, 8, 10 & 14-18 missing at right). Bridgwater to Exeter franked C1 TL plate 164 perfed high showing part inscription and '16' of the plate number; and Dec. 1855 env. Burton-on-Trent to London franked C4 FA plate 2 neatly cut from the sheet with scissors having perf. holes through the left and top of the portrait. Attractive trio.
