image MISCELLANY INCL. 1965 WILDING BISECT COVER: Assortment incl. a large qty of c.1964 Wilding "Seaside" booklet panes and predecimal Machin panes. Of particular interest is a 30 May 1965 cover posted at Hitchin franked with 3d violet Wilding and a vertically bisected 2d red-brown. The cover is endorsed "PRIVATE/4d RATE/NO 1d STAMPS AVAILABLE" (In May 1965 there was a strike at the P.O. Supply Depot, resulting in many P.O.s being out of stock of 1d and 4d stamps). Lot also incl. KGVI 1937 1½d brown Coronation stamp in block of 4 cancelled 13 May (FDI) and also a single on 12 May 1937 cover (day before official issue) with Muswell Hill cancel, and 1946 cover with the 3d violet 'Peace' issue "7 berries" var.
