Pl.7) COVER TO FRANCE; Very fine 12 Nov. 1858 E from Manchester to Lyons with rare mixed franking of a single 'Plate No.' 2d Blue (plate 7) with a Strip of Three 2d Blue 'Stars' (pl. 6) all tied by fair to fine "MANCHESTER/498" Spoon Duplexes; there is also a red London "PD" in circle on the front and French transit cds's front and back. An exceptional cover showing then transition from the 'stars in upper corners' 2d Blues to the 'letters in all 4 corners' 2d Blue!
