Hindenburg crash cover, one of the rarest and most desirable of all crash mail items. the remains of a PPC recovered from the wreck of the Hindenburg airship which burst into flames while mooring to its pylon, at Lakehurst, New Jersey, after a transatlantic flight, on May 6th 1937. This card is addressed to A. Thasler in Friedrichshafen, Brunnenstr. 15. The included DR. Joachim Simon BPP correctly watermarked 1993 certificate concludes that this is a genuine example of a surviving crash cover. It goes on to describe in detail its faults while providing views of both sides of the card. Not often is one presented with a rare opportunity to garner something this desirable for his collection. Carefully read the certificate and bid accordingly. (Image)
