THURN & TAXIS AND SAXONY POSTAL HISTORY: Group of nine covers, 1852-68 with Thurn & Taxis (6) or Saxony (3) frankings. Includes 1852 EL from Mainz (Hessen-Darmstadt) to Ludwigshafen with 3k black on blue franking, also 1868 env. (minor faults) from Frankfurt a/Main to London with attractive, three colour franking of embossed 9k brown, 1866 3k rose and 1859 30k orange (SG 67 £425) all tied by "220" in concentric rings postmark. This front with a range of addl. marks incl. London & Prussia "Registered", "PD" and "CHARGE" plus agent's oval, etc. A good to fine group.
