Crash cover involving NAT-CAM-17 flight from New York to Chicago (addr to Ca). Has violet cachet "DAMAGED IN MAIL PLANE / ACCIDENT AT HURON, OHIO / Dec 20, 1928 6 P.M." h/s. The plane crashed in blinding snow storm, killing the pilot. Only a few pieces of mail badly burned were recovered. This being a good example. F (Image)
