Canada-Newfoundland, St. John's - St. Pierre and Miquelon - Sydney Nova Scotia 1st Flight Cover, Maritime and Newfoundland Airways label on reverse, VF, addressed, cachet dc rubber stamp "FIRST FLIGHT INAUGURATING/ST./PIERRE/FRANCE/TO/ST. JOHN'S NFLD/CANADA/AIR MAIL SERVICE" with map outline in inner circle. Signed on front "J.R. McCowan/St. Pierre Miquelon/Aug. 31". Flight was interrupted at St. Pierre and covers confiscated for (3) years. Reverse has company stamp with explanation signed by J.R. McCowan. Also, green "J.W.S." in a green oval is probably the cachet for J.W. Stoutzengerg who made the airmail envelope. Great item for an exhibit or areo cover collection (Image)
