Cadiz despatch cds in blue at right (Sept 11). Transferred to British Post Office with TENERIFFE double arc cds on reverse (Sept 15) and struck with very fine "♚ / PAID / AT / TENERIFFE" in black (Gi CC2 = £ 3'750) on obverse alongside "1/-" prepaid in manuscript. Carried on RMSP "Avon" to Rio and the "Camilla" to Buenos Ayres, docketing of receipt internally (Oct 30). Disinfected with slits, probably at Teneriffe against yellow fever outbreak.
