NO 10 1852" cds, straight line PAID and matching framed CANADA in arc exchange office handstamp, all in red alongside. Some edge wear, a desirable cover, only 26 covers to the United States are known with this paper variety, this being the only one recorded to the southern states. Cert. BPA (1997). Short paid to GB only with two line "PAID ONLY / TO ENGLAND" in black and manuscript "Under Paid" in blue crayon at top. Struck in London (Feb 27) with oval framed "GB / 40c." accountancy marking in black, thence via Calais where charged '10' décimes due in manuscript. A rare and most attractive cover.
