The Commonwealth of Australia's first First Day Cover! [The ACSC states that 11 FDCs have been recorded of which three are institutionalised. One is a front only and at least two have incomplete dateheads]
1927 Canberra 1½d punctured 'OS' horizontal pair tied to cover with House of Representatives crest on the flap by 'PARLIAMENT HOUSE CANBERRA/9MY27/FCT' cds imperfect strikes but the date is discernible ACSC 132ya, a couple of very minor blemishes, Cat $5000. Believed to be the only recorded First Day Cover. [Sold at a Melbourne auction in 2015 for $7253]

1932 Large Lyrebird 1/- yellow-green ACSC 145B tied by 'REGISTERED PERTH/15FEB32/...' cds to plain Mitchell cover with 'FIRST DAY COVER' h/s in rosine, unusually to Ceylon with 'COLOMBO/POST RESTANT' [sic] arrival b/s, a couple of trivial blemishes on the flap otherwise superb!, Cat $450+ (for the normal shade).

Superb! [NB: The typed inscription states the stamps commemorated the centenary of introduction of merino sheep to Australia by John Macarthur. In fact, the issue marked the centenary of Macarthur's death, in 1834. Arthur Gray's similar cover sold for $725]
