St. Vincent, Classic Victorian Collection on Scott Specialty pages, 1861-98 (Scott #1B//69), from serious and knowledgeable old-time condition-conscious used collector, sound and fault-free, carefully selected items assembled over many years; no thins, tears or bends (#29 with short perfs is NOT counted in the value total); includes: #1B, 3, 6-8, 9-10, 12 (some short perfs), 13-15, 16-21, 23, 25, 27-29, 35, 37, 39, 40, 41-49, 51, 53-54 (SG #53b), 55-57, 59-60, 62-63, 65-69; extraordinary condition for these stamps. Scott Catalogue notes: "Very fine examples of Nos. 1-28, 30-39 will have perfortations touching the design slightly on one or more sides. Also, very fine examples of Nos.40-53, 55-60 will have perforations touching the design on at least one side. These stamps with perfs clear of the design on all four sides, especially Nos. 1-28, 30-39, are extremely scarce and command substantially higher prices." ^Tremendous cancellation interest, earliest are mostly "A10" followed by many difficult-to-find and extraordinarily beautiul circular date stamps, such as "BAR [Barrouallie]/JU 11/94" village c.d.s.; also very desirable early Grenadines of St.Vincent fore-runners "BEQ [Bequia Island]/NOV 17/94" and "UNION [Union Island]/JA 23/96"; also includes hand-typed detailed identification guide to early issues (keyed to identifying Stanley Gibbons numbers), attractive Very Fine appearance, such intact collections seldom offered.
