German East Africa British Occupation, 1915, Mafia, 45 h/black and mauve/opt G.R./MAFIA/type M1 in COMBINATION with 6 c. on 45 h/black and mauve/opt surcharge G.R./POST/6 CENTS/MAFIA/type M2, the famous block of 10 from the lower left corner, contains variety one without handstamp and the se-tenant horizontal pair with the combination of type M1/M2, with marginal imprint DEUTSCH-OSTAFRIKA and the full Han number H 2031.10 in violet and H 2031(.10) in black, MNH (right block of eight)/LPOG, tin in the right lower margin and some tiny creasing in the lower left corner, which is nearly not effecting the stamps, are mentioned for full accuracy and are of no relevance, the quality in general is far above average, very fresh gum, paper and colour, this multiple combines one of two known pairs/one without handstamp, the only known se-tenant pair and the biggest multiple in general of the 6 c on 45h, only on other se-tenant pair known from this issue, one of the most interesting typesetting positional multiples from MAFIA and the tremendous key item for the high-end collection, ex Danson, experts mark Georag Bühler and Hoffmann-Grieseke, Gibbs 25c/p 249/Gibbs states that the block was split apart by mistake, the other without-handstamp-pair mentioned is not from this block, XF!
