British Oceania, "The Island Hop" Mostly Mint Collection, 1871-1983, Time to do some island hopping in the Pacific to some remote British outposts. Nicely filled throughout in a Scott Specialty album and almost all mint with most stamps in black mounts. We start our journey in Fiji (1871-1983) with mint #15, 16, 45, 48, 49, 50, 71 and move on to Gilbert & Ellice Islands (1911-71) with mint #2. From there it's on to New Hebrides (1908-72) with mint J1-5 and then the Pitcairn Islands (1940-68) with mint 5A. After landing in the Solomon Islands (1907-79) with mint 53, 67-79, we take off for our final destination, Tonga (1887-1982), famous for its odd-shaped stamps (remember the banana?!), and there are many of them here, but the best stuff is in the classics, mint 2, 8, 9 (no gum), 14 (no gum), 16, 18, 29-32, 48, 50, 51, 65. Happy bidding! Generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 4.8 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Video2 for this lot) (Image)
