1855: Perkins Bacon 2 d. rose-carmine, a superb example of rich colour with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at right, used on 1856 cover to Gawler Place, Adelaide tied in black by obliterator and "GAWLER / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp (May 16). 1856/58: Adelaide printing 1 d. yellow-green, a used horizontal pair on 1860 entire letter to Strathallyn cancelled by bold '100' numeral obliterator with "MILANG / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp at left (Feb 3) in black. Reverse with "Strathallyn" arrival cds (Feb 4) in blue. Tiny closed hole on front panel but a fresh and very fine entire - just 9 covers bearing the Adelaide 1 d. are recorded, just four of these bear 1 d. pairs.
