image Crimean War 1854 (Sept 3): Embossed 1 s. green, a fresh example with large margins, well embossed, neatly cancelled by complete strike of "* ♚ *" crown between stars obliterator in black on piece to which the adhesive may not belong. Minor splitting along silk thread at top and bottom and very light corner crease outside design at top left, nevertheless a very rare usage and attractive adhesive. Cert. Karl Louis (2020) Gi = £ 3'000.rnRemarks: A very rare usage of the 1 s. Embossed cancelled with 'Crown between Stars' with just one other cut to shape single ex Yates and a damged strip of four on piece ex Piat recorded by the expert, Karl Louis.rnProvenance & Reference: The British Philatelist, vol. image Peru 1879: 6d. grey, plate 16, lettered EB, used on cover in delightful mixed franking with Peru 1874 issue 10 Centavos green from IQUIQUE via Callao and London to Lyon. The letter was posted on 17. January and the letter was taxed 50 Centavos, made Callao on 22nd of the same month, where the British stamp was cancelled with the C38 obliterator. The journey was completed on March 1 in Lyon, where the letter was again taxed with 10 Decime. A very fine and rare cover, which was sent by the French Vice Consulate in Iquique. Cert. Enzo Diena. image Cuba 1872: 1s. deep green, plate 4, lettered TD, on small envelope from Havana to Lima, endorsed 'R.M.Str.' (Royal Mail Steamer). The stamp is tied by Havana / C58 duplex (7 April) . On the reverse a St Thomas transit four days later. The envelope is slightly reduced so missing arrival and stamp rough perfs at top, but nonethelesds a very scarce and attraktive letter.
