image ST LUCIA: QV Keyplates use of a Die I master (?) die proof in black on highly surfaced card (92x60mm) handstamped 'July 26 1879' at U/L & 'BEFORE HARDENING' at U/R, with 'ST LUCIA' & 'FIVE SHILLINGS' hand-painted in carmine & '19MAR91' h/s in blue at right. Prepared for the 1891 Die II issue, as SG 51, issued in dull mauve & orange. A most unusual, unique & beautiful proof. Ex De La Rue Archives (but not illustrated in 'The De La Rue Collection'), Peter Jaffé and Lord Vestey. BPA Certificate (2020).

image TRINIDAD: 1885 Postage Dues hand-drawn essay in India ink on tracing paper (187x200mm) for the 8d with simulated perforations, plus value tablets for the other eight proposed denominations, light crease at lower-right otherwise superb. Ex De La Rue Archives (illustrated in 'The De La Rue Collection' at page 6489) and Paul Fletcher. [Inscribed 'SURCHARGE POSTAGE', this was an idiosyncratic and most unusual Keyplate issue]
