image Fascinating bundle of documents from post-war Greece, relating to all the legalese needed for a widow to prove her husband's identity and death, handwritten documents in Greek filled w/ numerous & a wide variety of revenue stamps, English translations also provided & taxed as well, incl one attestation from the American consul using a $2 stamp (RK35); the husband was shot by communist partisans ("bandits of ELAS") & thrown into a chasm near the village of Molaoi; F-VF (Image)

image Secretary copy of Nov 20, 1789 letter from Alexander Hamilton as Treasury Secretary to Collectors of Massachusetts with interesting historical content revealing the workings of the newly formed government incl which bank notes were acceptable, guarding against counterfeits & remittance instructions, part of a new find of multiple letters to the Collector in Machias (now part of Maine) that incl original Hamilton signatures, some toning and barely trimmed at right on reverse (one or two letters on some lines missing - still very readable) (Image)
