1847, entire folded letter with 26 Nov. 1847 dateline from Manila to UK via Marseilles at double rate. Entered the mail at Singapore w. boxed "SINAGPORE/17 December / Bearing...", via Hong Kong by "Braganza" to Aden. Then mails conged on the "Bentin" departing Dec. 29 to Suez, arr. January 5. Overland to Alexandria and put aboard "Induas" departing January 8 to Malta Jan. 12, then by "Hecate" Jan. 16 to Marseilles jan 21 w. London arrival Jan. 24 rated "4/6" - The single rate via Deylon was 1/10, from 1 to 1 174 oz 4/6. Value Add Taxes (19%) will be added to the hammer price and the buyers premium. (Image)

1898, Spanish Outposts, La Union Surcharges: 2 R green Isabella (Scott 5) surcharged with red overprint "2 CENT." together with 8 C red brown Alfonso (Scott 162), both stamps tied by cds CORREOS MANILA, 18.JUL.98, on cover to San Fernando, arrival marks CORREOS UNION, 30.JUL.98, on the frontside and on reverse. Envelope partly soiled and creased due to transportation, stamps in F/VF condition. The only known usage of a 'La Union' stamp on cover addressed to La Union! (Image)
