The 1400 mon basic weight rate for a letter Tokyo-Saikyo of the 1871 first postal tariff, from a known correspondence. Envelope two insect holes, one at left frame of 100 mon-37 (repaired), reduced on top and bottom. Ex-Frank J. Peplow (1872-1935), RDP 1933.

MATSUYAMA, 1914/15, two ppc from Paefcke correspondence (to wife of Navy MD): 1) pmk. "Matsuyama 3.12.22" to Shanghai, oval KEZ in vermilion, han of censor "Motomiya", sender Major Eduard Kleemann. 2) pmk. "Matsuyama 4.11.17" ppc "Mitsugahama Iyo Station" to Berlin/Germany with oval camp seal, s. l. SdPdG in red and han of censor "Motomiya", card is signed by Major Kleemann, Olt. Werner Maurer, Olt. Robert Martin, Hptm. Conrad Buttersack, Hptm. Walter Stecher. Mrs. Paefcke had returned to Germany in summer of 1915. Analysis by L. Seitz included. Interesting pair of cards from Matsuyama camp.
