(both 16.12); there was apparently a 1c Nanking Local Post stamp applied at lower—subsequently removed—that was tied by a San Francisco Paid All c.d.s.; New York receiver dated Jan 24 97, Very Fine,

The Nanking datestamp is rare when utilized as a Postage Paid marking; however, the Nanking Local Post stamps were issued in late Sept. 1896. The order of the date in the Nanking datestamp corresponds to the stamp era. The pre-adhesive marking reads month, day, year. Est. HK$1,200-1,500
