2½d deep blue Plate 2 TS Harrison One-Line Imprint block of 4 ACSC 11B(2)zf within a remarkable block of 40 Pos [2L31- R32/2L55-R56] with Thick Coastline to Western Australia 11(2)da on all five units listed in the ACSC - see footnote 4 below ACSC 9 - and on a few other units plus Pos [2L55] with Very Thick Coastline 11(2)da, then with additional listed varieties on Pos [2L31 32 37 43 59 & 60] plus that listed by Greg Pope on Pos [2L39], centring variable but many are well to very well centred, the yellowed gum is characteristic of this printing but there is a band of 'suntanning' in the left-hand margin clear of the stamps, very lightly mounted on only the four corner units and in the lower margin where there are a few split/reinforced perforations including behind the imprint, Cat $7740+ for a mounted imprint block of 4 including three varieties, nine further mounted varieties & the four mounted corner stamps, and unmounted normal or unlisted variety singles x23. Ex Alec Rosenblum and 'Artemis'. A quite extraordinary large multiple.
6d dull ultramarine Die IIA Substituted Cliché ACSC 19(1)ja (SG 38a) with a clear break in the left-hand inner frame just extending into the outer frame, with marginal vertical watermark line at left confirming that it is from the first column of the left-hand pane, well-centred, light horizontal bend and a couple of nibbled perfs at top, unmounted, Cat $10,000 (£7500) for mounted.
6d ultramarine with the Die IIA Break (Substituted Cliché) at Left [1R60] ACSC 19(1)ja (SG 38a) with marginal vertical watermark line at right, minor perf irregularities, 'SOUTH YARRA/VIC' cds well clear of the variety, Cat $3750 (£1900). Ex 'Artemis'. RPSofV Certificate (2014). [Stuart Hardy's similarly centred example - the cancel across the variety - sold for $2563]
6d dull blue with Broken Leg of Kangaroo ACSC 20(3)d (SG 38da) being the U/R unit in a block of 4, characteristic wayward centring for this variety, the gum evenly aged/toned, Cat $3575+ (£2520+), for singles. John Bozic Certificate (2005).
6d Die IIB pale violet-blue punctured 'OS' ACSC 20b (SG O46d) block of 8 (2x4), one short perf on the L/L unit, unmounted, Cat $6000+ for singles (£1360++ for mounted singles).

2/- brown with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 37a (SG 41w), quite well centred, light diagonal crease at top which does not detract from the very fine facial appearance, light Brisbane 1917 cds in blue, Cat $2250 (£425).
10/- grey & deep aniline pink ACSC 48B (SG 43a) with Kangaroo Slightly Misplaced so that his right ear is getting wet, hinge remainder, Cat $850 (£500).

Acquired at a Melbourne auction c.2010 for $5240. [The doubling is obvious in the upper margin & in the over-inking around 'AUSTRALIA/POSTAGE']
£1 light brown & pale blue with Double Print of the Frame (One Albino) ACSC 52Dc (SG 44ba), well centred, a few nibbled perfs otherwise superb!, Cat $12,500 (£8500). Ex 'Artemis'. [The ACSC states that "at least two mint stamps" are recorded]

£1 grey ACSC 53A (SG 75) marginal block of 12 from the left of the sheet [L25-27/43-45], of very fresh appearance but the gum is evenly aged, the upper-central unit very lightly mounted otherwise the block is entirely unmounted, Cat $42,250+ for one mounted and eleven unmounted singles (£7800+ for mounted singles). A highly desirable multiple, believed to be the equal-largest known mint block. Arthur Gray's similarly-configured block of 12 from the right of the left-hand pane, with similarly aged gum and all but one unit unmounted, sold for US$19,550. It seems likely that both blocks are from the same sheet and were probably both in the Lesley Abramovich Collection. Ex 'Chartwell' (sold for £4560) and 'Artemis'.
£1 grey with Type C 'SPECIMEN' Overprint with Shaved 'P' ACSC 53xf, unmounted, Cat $1000+, for mounted; unpriced unmounted. [The illustration is above Lot 2108]
