The ACSC states that this "is believed to be a proof prepared for the contractor who manufactured the OS puncturing head. At least one pair and two singles are known. The origin of the tinted watermarked paper is unclear; it may have been specially dyed for the purpose". The centring of the stamp and position of the perfin are identical to the example illustrated at page 4/64 of the ACSC.
1d carmine-red Single-Line Perf Die II BW #70(1)f (SG 21a), Gladstone (Qld) cds of Oct 1914, Cat $5250 (£3250). Scott Starling Certificate (2017) states "...a fine example of a very rare variety line perforated".
1d crimson Smooth Paper ACSC 71N block of 4, the second unit with Extra White Feathers on Emu, one unit unmounted, Cat $4000++ for mounted singles. A brilliant shade.

1d pink eosin Smooth Paper ACSC #71S marginal example from the top of the sheet [Pos VIII-4], well centred, a couple of light vertical gumbends that don't affect the exceptional facial appearance, unmounted, Cat $20,000. Michael Drury Certificate (2018).
1d red Smooth Paper Die II ACSC 71(1)i marginal pair from the top of the sheet (Cat $400++ on cover) & 1½d brown on commercial cover to Canada, oval 'REGISTERED/16MY19/PERTH WA' d/s plus red & black/white 'Index 867' R label, three Canadian b/s including 'TOR & FTWM RPO' (= Toronto & Fort William), underpaid but not taxed. 2d orange with variety Cracked Electro Vertically Through Right Side from Wattles to Emu's Front Leg ACSC 95(U)m, on piece with WA machine cancel mostly clear of variety, Cat $600.
2d orange punctured 'OS' x3 singles on piece, the left-hand stamp with variety Cracked Electro Vertically Through Right Wattles to 'L' of 'AUSTRALIA' ACSC 95(U)o and additionally Compartment Line at Top, the middle stamp with Compartment Line at Base, and the right-hand stamp (minor crease) with variety Cracked Electro Below '2' at Right ACSC 95(1)g [Pos 1R10], all tied by Perth '-7FE21' cds clear of varieties, Cat $900 for the two listed varieties. Although no longer joined together, the three stamps would appear to all originate from the same sheet, provisionally identifying 95(U)o as stemming from Electro 1.
