Amy Johnson. 1933 (Jan 11) Two page typed letter on Grosvenor House notepaper regarding missing letters and cables, unwanted new cuttings which "Smith" is trying to charge her £10 for, and payment of a £3 account, signed in ink "Love to all, Amy"; another letter on Grosvenor House notepaper from her secretary Doreen Pickering regarding a missing telegram from the Prince of Wales; 1930 silk covered programme for a luncheon at the Savoy Hotel given by the Daily Mail in honour of Amy Johnson and her England to Australia flight, containing six original photos from the flight, with the seating plan; and a picture postcard of her arrival in Sydney. image Japan - Coste and Le Brix Tokyo to Paris Flight. 1928 (Apr 7) Cover (with enclosed letter) posted from Tokyo to Hanoi franked 10s, endorsed "Par Avion Coste et Lebrix Japan - France. Tokyo 7 Avril 1928" and carried on their record breaking flight, with "BOURGET - AVIATION" arrival c.d.s (Apr 14). Also a picture postcard showing the route flown, the French aviators having left Tokyo on April 8th arriving at Paris on April 14th, the 16,750km completed in 101 hours of actual flying. Capricornus. 1937 (Mar 23) Cover from London to Baghdad franked KEVIII ½d + 2½d, reverse endorsed by recipient "Received P.M 28/3/37", recovered from the "Capricornus" which crashed on its inaugural flight on March 24th, when it hit a tree on the Mont de Beaujolais in the Rhone Valley during a snow storm, killing five people. Also two contemporary news cuttings about the crash. Fine and scarce.
