Duchess of Bedford. 1911 (May 3) Letter written and signed by Mary, Duchess of Bedford, on S.Y "Sapphire" notepaper (but written from Woburn Abbey), ordering books on ornithology. A noted Aviatrix, she broke the flight record to South Africa in the 1930s, and organised the first all-woman flying meeting in 1931.

Alan Cobham. 1931 (Feb 26) Cover from London to "Sq Ldr W.D Long, Ministry of Communication, Cairo" carried on the Imperial Airways first flight, with an enclosed typed letter signed by Alan Cobham on his headed notepaper; a picture postcard of Sir Alan Cobham's Air Liner "Youth of Britain" signed in ink by Alan Cobham; and a 5/- ticket for a flight during the 1934 National Aviation Day Display organised by Cobham. Alan Cobham. 1931 (Feb 27) Cover from London to "The Hon. R.S.D Rankin, The Resident, Zanzibar" franked 7d, carried on the first Imperial Airways flight, with an enclosed letter signed by Cobham on his headed notepaper. Also unused imperforate 1925 London - Cape Town flight vignettes (2), supplement to "Airways" with details of his Cape flight, a 1928 photograph of his aeroplane, and a newspaper caricature signed by Cobham in 1969. Also 1930 Von Gronau Germany to New York flight, cover flown in the final leg from Halifax (Aug 26) to New York; covers from the subsequent tour of the USA (3) all signed by Von Gronau, one also signed by the other three crew members; and news cuttings (5).
