PRESENTATION DIE PROOFS: 3d die proof in green struck on thick handmade paper (216x175mm) with deckled edges BW #134DP(2), the edges slightly trimmed (reduced to 210x156mm), Cat $12,500. The ACSC states that 11 proofs were presented, one of which is in the Australia Post Archives. Only five others have been accounted for. [At least two examples have had the deckling removed. Lord Vestey's example - reduced to 166x130mm - sold at auction in October 2014 for £4560]

POSTAL HISTORY: 1933 (Apr 8) airmail cover with scarce franking of Type B 3d green punctured 'OS' (Cat $750 on cover) + KGV 2d overprinted 'OS' with Grossly Misplaced Perforations tied by 'GERALDTON/WESTN AUST' cds, 'MIDLAND JUNCTION' arrival b/s.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1934 (Oct 18) Kingsford Smith Air Service cover to 'Smithy' in California with 3d green Type A + Victoria Centenary 2d tied by 'MASCOT/NSW' cds, plus Fiji 3d tied by 'SUVA' cds & American NRA 3c tied by 'HONOLULU' d/s, pilot-signed "CKingsfordSmith" AAMC 455, Cat $3250. Probably the finest example we have seen. [This was the first eastward crossing of the Pacific Ocean by air. The last three examples we offered sold for an average of $1515]
POSTAL HISTORY: 1934 (Dec 31) airmail cover to South Africa with 3d green Type A + Airmail 6d sepia & 1/6d claret and Macarthur 9d tied by Sydney cds. Most attractive. [The all-up airmail rate was 2/9d per ½oz. The cover is overpaid 3d, probably for intended registration]
