Turks Islands, PAID AT TURKS - ISLANDS (Scott A1), very fine strike of the red crowned circle on a folded address leaf to London with a red manuscript "6" rate and a red "London-E.C./Paid" receiving c.d.s., Dec 16, 1860; on the reverse is a "Turks - Islands/ No 23/ 1860" despatch c.d.s., Very Fine. A choice example of this rare marking. The letter is addressed to the "General Secretary, Wesleyan Centenary Hall and Mission House, Bishopsgate Street Within", with 1969 B.P.A. certificate. Turks Islands, 1867, Queen Victoria, 1d dull rose (Scott 1), strip of 4 wrapped over the top of a small cover from Grand Turk to Warwick, Bermuda; the strip is canceled front and back by "T1" barred numerals and the front of the cover bears a clear Turks Islands split-ring c.d.s., Aug 17, 1870; there is a brownish stain in the address area and a small piece of the top flap is missing, otherwise Fine and rare.
