image [Michigan] Lexington, Civil War patriotic cover, mostly clear Aug 2 c.d.s. on a Liberty & Flag cover (L-2350, Weiss F-F-168) to Detroit franked with a tied by a target cancel; stamp with damaged corner, cover lightly toned, otherwise Fine. Included is an interesting letter from A.P.S. Hall of Fame collector, Adolph Steeg, to a Mr. Karl Koslowski in Detroit. In the letter, Mr. Steeg "educates" Mr. Koslowski on the relative value of some more-common Pan-American Exposition covers and apparently enclosed this pristine cover as a gift, though no mention of it is made in the letter.
