image Queensland: 1911 long envelope from Queensland to Townsville, with stamps floated off, with Mackay d/s for March 22, carried by the ''S.S. Yongala'' which was engulfed by a cyclone and disappeared with her forty-eight passengers and seventy-two crew, bearing three-line ''Found on seashore of Halifax Bay near Ingham 8-4-11'' h/s in violet, very rare, one of only a few recorded examples from this wreck ? ? The last sighting of the ''S.S. Yongala'' was at the entrance to the Whitsunday passage by the Lighthouse Keeper at Dent Island in the early morning. Bags of mail were found by the Lighthouse Keeper on the beach at Cape Bowling Green and some were picked up by a passing steamer. (Image)
