While the 6d Airmail 'OS' overprint was placed on sale to the public, the 2d Bridge 'OS' was not; given the item was handed in over the Post Office counter, it most likely represents an 'unauthorised' use by an official on non-official mail rather than a completely 'illegal' use by a member of the public.

In 1894, the author & adventurer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, pioneered the sport in the area when he down-hilled into Arosa on Norwegian 'skiing boards']
