Returned Letter Office. 1901-38 Covers and cards all returned to the sender, various cachets including boxed dated "RETURNED TO / POST OFFICE / W.C.D.O", "RETURNED TO / POST OFFICE / UNCLAIMED / E.C.D.O" (or similar N.W.D.O), boxed "Returned to Post Office / LIVERPOOL on ......." or "NOT KNOWN / AT PRESTON, LANCS", WW1 covers (10) with "RETURNED TO SENDER / BY THE CENSOR" label or boxed "Picture Postcards / are returned / by the Censor", also 1918 lettersheet from a P.O.W in Germany with part message deleted and enclosed British Postal Censorship slip, and a 1917-18 correspondence (9, three with Royal Flying Corps flaps). (46).

1896 (Jan. 13) London R.L.O lettersheet, the largely printed letter requesting 2½d postage on an unpaid book packet addressed to Sarawak, Borneo, with red London Official Paid c.d.s and a Singapore backstamp. The latest Detained for Postage lettersheet we have seen, very unusual to Sarawak, one of the few countries still not in the U.P.U at this date, part lower flap missing.

Also 1848 "Remittance Letter of Acknowledgement" form with red W.L Maberley imprint on the front used with a crowned Paid datestamp, and 1895 lettersheet posted at Leeds with "Free / S.A Blackwood" imprint. A rare R.L.O lettersheet for letters posted unpaid to foreign destinations where prepayment was compulsory. Type Fo-i, one recorded. (3).
