Range of used Chalons (19) inc. very fine example or the rare 1862 3d brown-lilac, SG 74 (£600), 1874-78 & 1882-1900 'sidefaces' inc. 2/- rose SG 185 (trimmed perfs. lower edge & fine, but typically off-centre 5/- grey SG 186 (£325). Extensive range of different perfs with many mint examples; 1893 advertising stamps (c.20+) to 1/- value; 1898 & 1902-07 pictorials mint & used with several 5/- Mt. Cook types, 1906 Christchurch Exhibition fine & fresh mint set of four SG 370/373 (£275), 1913 Auckland Exhibition mint values ½d, 1d & 3d (SG £230), KEVII & KGV defins plus mint & used Officials; 1925 Dunedin Exhib. mint & used with 4d mint pair showing error "POSTAGF" for "POSTAGE", various 1920s/30s Health issues inc. image 1894 WRECK OF S.S. 'WAIRARAPA', ETC: Oct. 1894 cover addressed to Auckland salvaged from the wreck of S.S. 'Wairarapa' (wrecked at Great Barrier Island on 29 Oct. 1894 with the loss of 135 lives). Stamp washed off and only "94" visible in cancel with 2-line ""Saved from wreck of S.S./"WAIRARAPA" in violet. Accompanied by Jul. 1898 cover from Auckland to Ponui Island and endorsed "S.S. Argyle".
