image Air Mails. 1923 (July 28) Straits Settlements acceptance for the D.E.I Army Airforce Bandoeng to Weltevreden and return flight, cover from Malacca to Bandoeng franked 12c with the Weltevreden flight cachet and "A12" postman's delivery handstamp on the front, Singapore c.d.s. & Bandoeng flight cachet on reverse, opened at sides, otherwise fine. Proud states a despatch from Malacca was made to connect with this flight and was the first opportunity for the public in Malaya to use an airmail acceleration; It was flown without surcharge. Reverse with Penang arrival c.d.s. (Apr. 2) and Straits 4c postage due vertical pair cancelled two days later. Minor opening fault at right, otherwise fine, very unusual and scarce.
