India used in Kuwait 1943/44: Group two covers from Kuwait to Wattwil, Switzerland bearing India 1937-40 KGVI 1 a. carmine & 2a.6.p. Bullock cart violet (Gi 250+252) and 1940-43 KGVI 3½ a. bright blue (Gi 272), respectively to pay the 3½ a. rate. The adhesives tied by "KUWAIT / PERSIAN GULF" cds's, one with BASRA transit, both making their journey via Istanbul, one cover with corresponding machine transit cancellation.
