image 1694 LETTER & 1774 "PENNY POST/NOT PAID": 16 Dec. 1774 EL/wrapper from Aberdeen to London having a fair small double circular "PENNY POST/NOT PAID" On the reverse, Bishop marks for "[2]3/DE" & "24/DE" plus small circular "9/O'CLOCK" marks. Contents ref "By a letter from Mr. Charles Gordon at Canton in China, he desires I would send what letters I wrote him to your care....". The other item in the lot is a single sheet (no postal markings) from Mr. John Uppcott to Mr. Tristam Furlong, both of 'Tyverton' and dated 1694.
