Nova Scotia. c.1865 Piece bearing 1860-65 2c pair (right stamp crossed by heavy vertical fold) and a diagonally bisected 2c to pay a 5c rate, cancelled by two strikes of "A92" Cunard mailboat numeral. The Robson Lowe North America Encyclopaedia (page 383) illustrates a virtually identical 2c bisect (+ pair) piece with "A92" mailboat cancels, very rare. Photo on Page 86. (Image1)
