Four from 1897 pay the 8c rate (one to San Francisco, one from 1897 has a 1c, 3c and 20c, one from 1900 pays 7c to New York City). image Two Registered Covers Franked with a Single 5c Slate Green Small Queen, NOV.1.1877 Toronto to Ottawa with a perf 11½ x 12 stamp and JUL.5.1878 Morrisburg to Toronto with perf 12 stamp (ex Harry Lussey and includes his write-up). These two covers were franked contrary to regulations, as the 5c stamp was used to pay both the 3c letter rate plus the 2c registration fee (a 2c registration stamp should have been used in both cases).
