Group of Four Forgeries, starting with a #QU3, the so-called "Bootlegger's Forgery" lithographed 15c Québec Unemployment revenue, rouletted and ungummed, very fine (van Dam cat. $150). Also two different 6c on 5c Airmail surcharge forgeries (Scott #C3a/b) with a double surcharge with "FORGERY / ANDRE FRODEL" handstamps on back and an inverted/double surcharge with "FORGERY" handstamp on back, possibly attributed to "Harris" McMaster and/or Frodel and/or Eaton (this one ex Walske). Lastly we have a fake #O6 inverted O.H.M.S. official overprint on a used stamp (with "forgery" in pen on back), with a normal mint stamp to compare (no inverted genuine stamps are known). The lot is accompanied by a many page article by Kenneth Pugh on the forgeries of Andre Frodel, as well as other forgery documentation including a list of items said by Fred Eaton's son Dan of items that were produced by Frodel. Group of Four Forgeries, with #7 in deep rose as an ungummed single (small tone spot at LR) and a pair (both VF or better), as well as #18 with a mint single perforated 12½ on gummed paper (with 2011 Pugh certificate), plus a used "wing margin" single, also perforated 12½, tied to a piece by a fake oval cancel (these fine). These are excellent and dangerous forgeries, originally sold by Fred Eaton, who attributed them as having been done by Andre Frodel. All four items are ex Walske. (Image)
1865 3d Blue Seal of British Columbia with Inverted Watermark, a rare mint block of four with full original gum, lightly hinged, fine and fresh. Ex. Dale Lichtenstein and accompanied by a 2004 David Brandon certificate. Rsv. $1,400. (Image)

1851 3d Red and Dark Red Heraldic Imperforates with Better Grid Numeral Postmarks, the red shade has small faults, but has a #2 in grid postmark (Andover, RF 9, very rare). The dark red stamp has tiny thins and a #25 in grid postmark (Salisbury, RF 8, very rare). A great duo for the numeral grid collector. (Image)
1860 1c Red Lilac Locomotive, an unused (no gum) inscription sheet of 100 stamps, more than likely from the second printing, with 8 printer’s imprints on the selvedge (two are partial due to some pieces of selvedge missing at bottom. The stamps are overall fine centered, and all of the constant plate varieties listed in Argenti (12 different) are present. There is some very light soiling mostly noticeable on the back of the sheet. We noted that four hinges were previously applied on the front of the sheet (4 corners) to secure onto a page, as well as a few minor perforation separations, else a solid and fresh sheet, seldom offered. (Image)
1853 1d Red Brown Queen Victoria Imperforate, mint with original gum, great colour with all margins well clear to large, very fine. A scarce stamp, especially this nice. Accompanied by a 2016 Greene Foundation certificate. Rsv. $1,800. (Image)
