1894 3c and 10c used on registered cover from Philadelphia, via New York to a small village (Berinishki, Kovno gov.), nice Steamship and Railroad cachet and corresponding "M.Rosenbaum Agent" datestamp on back, transit and arrival markings, include a manuscript note indicating "to the nearest (post Office) to the place of accommodation", with perfectly preserved wax seal of the head of Shavli police department (Shavli, today Siauliai, a town in Lithuania). An interesting cover to a small town, where the search for the addressee was conducted by the local police (Image)
